First!

So it always makes me laugh when you see a news post or a Facebook post or something of that sort with the first 15-20 comments reading "First", as if being on the Internet ball wins you a cookie.
What makes me laugh even more is looking at the time-stamps and seeing them over 5 minutes apart, as if said individual commenting doesn't know about the "refresh" function of Websites.

Anyways, little things like that make me laugh and help me get through the days, and let me tell you, sometimes getting through the days is not that easy...

So why are we here?

Well, this is the new home-base for my Disabled Gamer Program, now known as "Irish Rises".

As many of you may know and many of you will soon learn, I've lived a challenging life to say the least.

This Blog will be the central location for a number of things, first and foremost, my biography will be posted here, for all to read and learn about my life, what I have been through, and, well, put simply, how i ended up suffering from things like Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety and Depression. Yes, I did say Biography, I am working with a very talented writer (who happens to be my Housemate, yes, I am very lucky in that regard) to tell my story. We are not exactly sure what form the presentation will take, but I can guarantee a good read!

Secondly, I will be making regular, hopefully daily at the least, blog postings about where I am currently, what's going on in my life and where I am hoping to go in the future.

The new Donation and Chip-In format will also be managed and linked to from here. The new format will be single goal Chip-ins  aiming to accomplish a single goal within a set time-frame  Hopefully this will make things a bit easier for folks to understand and relate to in terms of where those donations go. :-)

All in all, this will be the one-stop-shop for all things about the "Irish Rises" Campaign, detailing all my hopes, dreams, successes, failures, good days, bad days, and everything in-between.

I thank all of you who have supported me over the past months since I began this and cannot thank you enough. If it wasn't for folks like you, I would for sure have given up hope by now, an easy thing for someone with my diagnosis to do, i assure you.
It's thanks to all of you, my friends, my pseudo-family, my supporters, my followers, my fans, that I wake up each day, push forward, set new goals and look to show the world that Mental Illness or a Disability is not able to prevent someone from reaching their goals, no matter the height.

I can only hope that in sharing my experiences, past, present, and future, that I may inspire someone similar to myself to "fight the good fight" and never give up on their dreams.

I hope you all enjoy accompanying me on this journey of mine and a look at "The Boy Behind the Buttons".
